Mess Hall:
"So when are you going to tell your people the good news?" Sheppard asked as he Teyla and Torren ate dinner.
"I am going to tell them tomorrow," Teyla replied, "Could you watch Torren while I am away?"
"I'd be happy to," Sheppard replied, "and I've been wanting to teach Torren how to play Candy Land."
"Candy Land?" Teyla asked.
"It's the game I got Torren," Sheppard replied and then he looked at Torren, "We're going to have fun aren't we Torren?"
Torren told him yes and he tried to avoid eating his vegetables.
"I bet you Torren if you clean your plate your mother will let you have dessert," Sheppard said.
"John is right Torren," Teyla said to her son.
The Control Room (the next day):
"Now Torren you behave for John," Teyla said.
"Don't worry Teyla I'll make sure he behaves or he won't get any dessert with dinner," Sheppard said while holding Torren.
When the gate activated, Teyla gave a quick kiss to Sheppard and then one to her son before heading through the gate.
"Let's go play Candy Land and maybe later when your mother returns we can teach her how to play," Sheppard said.
Torren got excited when Sheppard mentioned Candy Land as they walked out of the control room.
The Athosian Planet:
Teyla exited the gate on the other side and started to make her way to the settlement when a group of people walked up to her and tried to grab her. She tried to fight them off, but they found some way to grab her and take her away. The only thing that lay on the ground as evidence that she did make it through the gate was her engagement ring.
"Where are you taking me?" Teyla asked.
"Stun her we'll get there quicker," one man said.
Teyla's Quarters:
After having taught Torren how to play Candy Land and read several stories, Torren asked Sheppard when his mother would be returning, but before Sheppard could say anything to Torren, Woolsey radioed him.
"Sheppard here," Sheppard said.
"Colonel Sheppard you'll want to come up to the control room," Woolsey said over the radio.
"Can you hold on just a second," Sheppard and then he turned to Torren, "Could you play in your room for a bit?"
Torren told him yes and went into his room.
"What is it Mr. Woolsey?" Sheppard asked.
"It's Teyla. She never made it to the Athosian settlement," Woolsey replied over the radio.
"I'll come to the control room as soon as I can find someone to watch Torren," Sheppard said worried about Teyla, "Sheppard out."
The Athosian Planet:
"What do you want with me?" Teyla asked when she woke up in the cell.
A guard at the cell heard her speak and left to let someone know that she was awake. When the guard returned he had the leader with him.
"My name is Mor'en the leader of my people," Mor'en said and the next thing he would say would annoy Teyla, "I want your people to leave this planet."
Teyla was annoyed at what he just said, but she didn't let it show when she spoke, "I was assured that this planet was uninhabited."
"Well you thought wrong," Mor'en said, "We have ways to remain undetected."
"My people will not take kindly to being asked to leave," Teyla said, "My people and I have had to leave one too many planets because of the Wraith."
"The Wraith," Mor'en said and then it gave him an idea so he left and went straight to his office to formulate a plan. Once the plan was in place, he returned to the cell, "You have 36 hours to change your mind or I will have the Wraith come here and feed on your people until every last one is dead."
"I will not take kindly to you making threats against my people," Teyla said with anger clearly in her voice.
"Whether they live or die is all up to you," Mor'en said just before he left.
The Control Room:
Sheppard wasted no time in getting to the control room once he found someone to watch Torren.
"We're geared up and ready to go Sir," Lorne said at the same time Ronon walked in dragging McKay behind him.
"You know I was working on something in my lab," McKay said once Ronon stopping dragging him.
"Woolsey already gave us the go ahead to go to the planet and find Teyla, "Lorne said.
"I'll get geared up and meet you in the gate room," Sheppard said.
The Athosian Planet
When Sheppard and the others arrived on the planet, Halling was waiting for them.
"Colonel Sheppard," Halling said, "I am the one who reported Teyla missing. We knew Teyla was coming today and when she did not show, we felt it right best to contact Atlantis immediately."
"I hoping some of the Athosians could help with the search. I figured about 3 for every member of Lorne's team," Sheppard said to Halling and then to McKay and Ronon, "You're with me."
Sheppard was about to start walking away but Halling stopped him.
"I did find this," Halling said as he handed Sheppard a ring.
"Where did you find it," Sheppard asked as he put the ring in one of his vest pockets.
"This way," Halling said as he motioned for Sheppard and his team to follow.
They reached the spot Halling was talking about and Sheppard looked around for any clues as did Ronon.
Ronon spotted something and said, "It looks like tracks."
Sheppard didn't wait for the others to follow and headed in the direction they were going. Everyone that was with him hurried to catch up to him.
Sheppard stopped when the tracks did and said, "The tracks just stop here. Halling did you or any of the other Athosians see or hear any ships in the sky."
Halling told him no and then Ronon said, "There is something in a distance over there."
"It's possible that they could have beamed her somewhere," McKay said, "If there weren't any in the sky, then somewhere else on the planet. Unless, of course, there is a ship that can beam people when clocked."
"I'll go back to Atlantis and return in a jumper, so I can do an aerial survey. Maybe that will help," Sheppard said, "Ronon. McKay. You're with me."
Sheppard's team made their way back to the gate, only stopping to tell Major Lorne's team to stay on the planet, and dialed Atlantis.. They returned shortly thereafter in a jumper and started the aerial survey.
After about in an hour of searching, McKay asked, "What's that?"
Sheppard wasted no time in finding an out of the way place to land the jumper. He then radioed Lorne to let him know that they found something that was worth checking out. Sheppard then clocked the jumper before opening the hatch.
"McKay you're in the middle," Sheppard said As he got out his ancient hand scanner and began to ready is weapon.
They started walking away from the jumper and kept walking until the reached what looked like a cave system. They entered the cave in stealth mode to begin the search for Teyla.
A woman named O'Leyah walked up to the cell where Teyla was with a tray of food for her.
"My name is O'Leyah and I food for you but don't worry it does not contain any poison in it," O'Leyah said.
"What makes you think I would trust you?" Teyla asked.
"If Mor'en knew I was here giving food to a prisoner he would be furious," replied O'Leyah, "He only gives prisoners food when he feels like it so be lucky I gave you food. I prepared it myself. It's bread and porridge."
"Why are you doing this?" Teyla asked.
"I have to go, but I will be back for the tray," O'Leyah replied as she opened the cell with a key to give Teyla the tray and then she closed the cell and left with the key in her pocket.
Sheppard and the rest of his team searched the cave system for what seemed like an hour, but it was only 15 minutes. They heard someone coming and hid, so they wouldn't be seen.
"I would like you transport the prisoner to a cell 30 minutes away. Use the beam and inject her with this," Mor'en said to the Keshy guard and handed him something, "Hopefully this will make her change her mind and get her and her people off this planet for good."
"Will do, Mor'en, " the Keshy guard said as he took the something and then left.
Mor'en then left and went to his office. Once Sheppard was sure the coast was clear, he motioned for his team to follow the guard. They quickly caught up to the guard, while still being careful not to be seen.
Teyla heard someone coming and did her best to hide the tray of food. When the guard reached the cell, he opened the door with the key.
"You're coming with me," the guard said.
Sheppard and the rest of the team managed to follow the guard to the cell and hid in a spot where they could see the cell, but the guard won't see them. They watched as Teyla tried to fight off the guard when the door opened, but she was unsuccessful as the guard managed to inject her with something and then disappear with her in a beam. Sheppard and the others would have done something, but it all happened so fast that there was not enough time to do anything. They would have to do more searching on order to found out the location where Teyla was taken to.
"Now what?" McKay asked in a low tone.
"The guard or whoever he was, was told to take Teyla to a cell 30 minutes away from here. All we have to do is get to that cell and get Teyla out of here," Sheppard said in a low tone.
They decided the best plan of action was to get 30 minutes from where they were and then find the cell. Hopefully they wouldn't get caught in the process.
30 minutes away the guard was putting Teyla in a cell. Once she was in the cell, the guard informed Mor'en. While in the cell, Teyla started to feel sick. Sometime after, Mor'en made an appearance at the cell and hoped that Teyla's mind would be changed.
"Have you changed your mind?" Mor'en asked.
"If you think I am going to change my mind, you are sorely mistaken," Teyla replied.
"Guard a bucket of cold water," Mor'en said.
The guard left to get a cold bucket of water. When he returned, Mor'en instructed him to dump the cold water on Teyla. The guard unlocked the cell and then went into the cell to dump the cold water in Teyla. Once the cold water was dumped and the cell door closed, the guard and Mor'en left. Teyla stood in her cell already sick and now in cold wet clothes. It would be another 15 minutes before Mor'en and the guard would return. Mor'en asked Teyla the same question and got the same answer. This time Mor'en had the guard dump a bucket of hot water on Teyla. After they left, Teyla's clothes were even more soaking wet then before and there was nothing she could do about it
Sheppard's team was finally 30 minutes from their last position and now all they needed to do is find the cell that Teyla was in. It took a little while, but they managed to find the cell with Teyla. When they got to the cell, they heard someone coming, so they hid in an out of the way spot where they could hear and somewhat see what was going on. Mor'en and the guard walked up to the cell, with Mor'en hoping Teyla had changed her mind, but he was ready just in case.
"I'm hoping you changed your mind this time," Mor'en said.
Teyla managed to say to him, "As I have said I will not change my mind."
"I hope you enjoy your nightmares," Mor'en said before he ordered the guard to inject Teyla with something that would make her sleep and give her nightmares for the next few days, "She should wake up in few hours, but have nightmares for a few days. With the right amount of doses, I could make her have nightmares for the rest of her life."
After the guard and Mor'en left, Sheppard's team made their way to the cell with Teyla, but when they got there, they found themselves surrounded with strange weapons aimed at them.
"Grab their weapons," one man said and then after the weapons were taken, "This way."
Sheppard and the rest of his team had no choice, but to do as they said and see what happens. They were lead to a hidden room that was accessed by a large set of stairs that went down.. The entrance to the stairs were hidden in a library type room that Mor'en rarely went to. When they finally reached the room, someone said, "I know you wish to know why you were brought here."
"Why did you aim your weapons on us and then take our weapons?" Sheppard asked.
"It was necessary as we wish to keep this room hidden from Mor'en," Ko'vel replied.
"You were brought here because we need your help," Na'zon said, "Ner'zell give them back their weapons."
Ner'zell handed Sheppard and the others their weapons.
"My name is Ko'Vel and we would be gratefully if you will just listen to the reason we need your help," Ko'Vel said.
Sheppard turned to his team and told them in a low tone that it couldn't hurt to listen to what they have to say. Then he turned back and told Ko'Vel he could start telling them the reason.
"We found an ancient Keshy text that said one day an outsider or group of outsiders would come when it was greatly needed. It does not say when that will happen, but given what is going on," Ko'Vel said, "We are a peaceful people who would happily share the planet, but when Mor'en came into power as the new leader, he decided that the planet should belong to the Keshy and only the Keshy among the things he has done."
A female Keshy came out of a doorway and walked over to Ko'Vel. She had some visible scars on her face and body that were still in the process of healing.
"This is my wife O'Leyah," Ko'Vel said.
"I am one of many that Mor'en has harmed over the years," O'Leyah said, "He has taken the law and crime to the extreme. My sister was setting up the food for a festival when Mor'en walked by and complained about how it was set up and asked her to change it, but she told him no and that she had to get to work soon. He did like that and locked her up for the night in a cell. He had given her something to make her have nightmares, but she was lucky that she only got one dose."
"I have a friend who Mor'en accused of stealing even though he wasn't, but Mor'en did not care. He's got the scars to prove it," Ko'Vel said.
"One day weeks ago, I was working as a nurse in the medical wing, when one of Mor'en's family members came in for medical treatment. Mor'en was with them and wanted his family member taken care of right away. I told him he have to wait just like everyone else, but he did not take kindly to that. I tried to tell him that there are people in more urgent need of care and that they would have to come first, but Mor'en did not care. He asked me to get a doctor, but I refused. He managed to give me the maximum amount of doses, 5, which gave me constant nightmares that were never going to go away. Mor'en calls them "nightmares for life", but only if you get all doses and for some all it may take is 4 for that to happen. It's a good bet your friend will be given them, as well as any punishment Mor'en feels like giving her," O'Leyah said, "Some of my scars are the result of myself volunteering to be the test subject in order to find a cure for the nightmares for life."
"Na'Zon here is a doctor. He has been secretly working on a cure and recently has found one. My wife has been free of nightmares since a few days ago. We have been secretly giving it to others and it has been successful in helping them too."
"It's only a matter of time before Mor'en finds and we can't let that happen. Not just about the nightmares cure, but our whole underground movement for a better leader," Na'Zon said.
"As for the other people on this planet, there's no telling what Mor'en will do to them if we do not stop him," Ko'Vel said.
In the cell that Teyla had been recently been moved to, Mor'en decided to pay her another visit.
"I came to see if you changed your mind about leaving the planet," Mor'en said to Teyla.
"Never," Teyla said in a loud voice.
"Guard," Mor'en said and as the guard injected, "Continue to enjoy your nightmares."
Just like the last dose Teyla would be a sleep for a short period. As she slept, she experienced a nightmare just like the last dose.
Someone came from the same doorway that O'Leyah had come from and walked right over to Ko'Vel. The person told Ko'Vel something and then left the room.
"It seems your friend has been given a third dose," Ko'Vel said.
Upon hearing what Ko'Vel just said, Sheppard was even more desperate to rescue Teyla.
"I know how you feel," Ko'Vel replied as he could tell that the friend of Sheppard and the others was more then just a friend to Sheppard, "We may only get one chance at this, so the timing must be right."
"So how do we get Teyla out without this Mor'en finding out?" Sheppard asked.
"It will be tricky," Nar'Zell said, "but I have been trying to figure out his day to day routine. Mor'en will be preparing for a meal with the council and it's almost always a feast which should take a couple of hours, as they usually end up talking about issues brought up during the last meeting."
"But won't there be guards nearby?" Ronon asked.
"Some," Ko'Vel said, "but Na'Zon has come up with something that will put them to sleep for about 4-8 hours. That should give us plenty of time to get Teyla out before Mor'en finds out that she is gone."
"This where I come on," O'Leyah said, "I will be returning with you to instruct your doctors about the nightmare cure. I will be carrying a container that will have vials of the cure. Once she has been given the cure, she will stop having nightmares a lot sooner. Those who have only had 3 doses of the nightmares for life, have had it take months for the nightmares to stop on there own."
"In regards to Mor'en, what do you need us to do?" Sheppard asked.
"Some members of the underground have created a small device that when placed on Mor'en, it causes him to disintegrate. They made the device specifically, so it would work on Mor'en and only him," Ko'Vel replied, "It should be noted that the device will disintegrate with him. It should also be noted that we only created it because of extreme circumstances. This would be where you would come in. If you could get the device on him, as it would be much easier because if one of us or any member of the underground were to do it, Mor'en would be more likely to get suspicious and the underground could be crumbled. Not to mention the fact that no one on this planet would be safe."
"Ko'Vel we should get ready Mor'en will be preparing for that meal within the hour," Ner'Zell said.
Back in the area where the cell was with Teyla, Mor'en decided to pay her one more visit before the meal with the council. This time the bucket the guard was carrying, was filled with a liquid that would turn to gas when it was dumped on someone. The worst thing that it would do was knock someone out, so they would be unconscious for a few hours. Mor'en told the guard to open the cell door and dump the contents of the bucket on Teyla. Once the contents of the bucket was dumped, they left the cell and locked the door. Mor'en and the guard then left leaving Teyla lying on the floor of the cell unconscious with wet clothes and nightmares. Once the gas was completely dissipated, a few guards came to the cell to guard Teyla.
"We have a device here that we can use to transport anywhere on the planet. Once the guards have been taken out, we can use this to get your friend to safety," Nar'Zell said, "Mor'en does not know we have this as we hid much of the Keshy technology for the fear the Mor'en would do something with it and in his hands, that would not be a good thing."
"We have a ship near the entrance to the caves and we should beam there when we have Teyla," Sheppard said, and then to McKay, "Rodney I need to you to fly the jumper to the gate and then back to Atlantis. I also want you to radio Major Lorne and update him."
"Should I pick him up on my way back?" McKay asked.
"Do it and tell him to come back to the caves with you and wait for me," Sheppard replied and then he shot McKay a look that McKay knew as if anything happens to Teyla you're dead meat.
McKay told him he understood.
"Be careful Ko'Vel, but there is one thing I must tell you," O'Leyah said.
"Can it wait O'Leyah?" Ko'Vel asked.
"I do not wish it," O'Leyah replied, "You will be a father and when this is all over, we can be joyous about it."
Ko'Vel gave his wife, O'Leyah, a quick kiss and then they went ahead with the mission.
"Are you ready Na'Zon?" Ko'Vel asked.
Na'Zon told Ko'Vel that he was and then Ko'Vel told Sheppard and his team how the transport device worked. Everyone stood around Ko'Vel as he punched a few buttons on the transport device and then they appeared a short distance from the cell where Teyla was. Na'Zon did his thing and within a few minutes the guards were knocked out. Nar'Zell quickly checked the surrounding area and whispered all clear. O'Leyah pulled out the key for the cell from her pocket and handed it to Nar'Zell. Once Nar'Zell unlocked the cell door and opened it, Sheppard lowered his weapon and walked over to the cell. He knelt down and checked for a pulse.
"She's got a pulse," Sheppard said.
"We must hurry," Ko'Vel said.
Sheppard handed his weapon Nar'Zell, so he could pick up Teyla and carry her to the jumper. Once everyone was around Ko'Vel he pressed some more buttons on the transport device and they transported near the cave entrance. McKay, Sheppard carrying Teyla, and O'Leyah with a container in hand headed to the jumper. Sheppard told McKay what pocket the clocking remote device was in, so the jumper could be uncloaked. McKay uncloaked the jumper and made his way to the forward compartment of the jumper. Sheppard laid Teyla down on one of the seats in the back of the jumper.
"I will see to her care until your doctors take over," O'Leyah said to Sheppard, "I will tell them what Mor'en does to his prisoners, at least what I know."
"Thank You," Sheppard said to O'Leyah and then he gave Teyla a quick kiss on the forehead while thinking 'Please be alright.'
McKay closed the back hatch once Sheppard was out of the jumper and on his way back to the cave entrance.
Back at the cave entrance, Ko'Vel was talking to Na'Zon and Nar'Zell as he walked back. Nar'Zell handed Sheppard his weapon back.
"Na'Zon i want you to inform the rest of the underground to take out anyone who supports Mor'en," Ko'Vel said, "Nar'Zell and I will take out the 2 council members once Mor'en is dealt with."
Na'Zon got out his own transport device, pressed a few buttons on it and transported out.
"Mor'en should be making his way to the council hall," Ko'Vel said and then everyone left gathered around Ko'Vel. They transported to a location near the council hall and hid in an out of the way spot.
"Here is the device," Nar'Zell said to Sheppard as he handed him the device, "Just be careful that you don't drop the device. Do you have any questions?"
Sheppard told him no as he took the device and they went back to waiting for Mor'en. About a half an hour later, Mor'en showed up with 2 guards behind him. Ko'Vel and Nar'Zell gave the go ahead signal and a signal to leave his weapon. Sheppard made his way out of hiding while the others stayed hidden. Mor'en saw Sheppard and instructed his guards to capture him, but Sheppard kept dodging them and then a fight ensued between Mor'en, his guards and Sheppard. It took a while but Sheppard managed to not only knock out the guards, but get the device on Mor'en. Sheppard knelt on the floor as Mor'en and the device disintegrated before his eyes. The others came out of hiding once it was safe.
"Thank you," Ko'Vel said to Sheppard, as Ronon helped him up and handed Sheppard his weapon.
Sheppard noticed some bruises and cuts that might need stitches on his body. He told Ko'Vel that he was welcome.
"Now let's hope the 2 council members have arrived," Nar'Zell said, "Once we have dealt with them, the rest of council can prepare for the new leader."
"Do you need immediate medical assistance?" Ko'Vel asked Sheppard.
"No I think I'll be alright," Sheppard replied.
They moved on to the council meeting room to deal with the 2 council members who supported Mor'en. Nar'Zell made sure he had some of the sleepy medicine Na'Zon had given him, as this would be given to the 2 council members to take them out. He made sure to give some to Ko'Vel. When they reached the door, Ronon got his sword out just in case and Ko'Vel slowly looked into the room, as the door was opened. Ko'Vel let the others know, quietly, that they were in there along with few other members, but the rest of the council had yet to arrive. Nar'Zell signaled that he would go in from another door, as it would be unexpected. There was a half wall in the corner of the room near the door and Ko'Vel, Sheppard and Ronon managed to sneak into the room and hide behind that wall without being seen. Ko'Vel readied the medical injector and prepared to sneak up on one of the 2 members they needed to take out. A short time after Ko'Vel took out the one member, Nar'Zell took out the other one.
"New leadership starts today," Ko'Vel said.
"Agreed," one of the council members said.
"Mor'en is gone for good," Ko'Vel said.
More council members began to walk into the room, as well as a person wearing a hooded cloak. The hooded cloak person put down his hood while Ko'Vel went to get Ronon and Sheppard from behind the half wall. The 4 of them walked over to the man wearing the cloak and Ko'Vel introduced the man to Sheppard and Ronon.
"This is Gor'gan our new leader," Ko'Vel said, "Gor'gan this Ronon Dex and John Sheppard."
"Please tell your friend that I would like to meet her when she is feeling much better," Gor'gan said, "and if her people ever need to hide from the Wraith, we have a place were they can hide."
"I will tell her," Sheppard said and then his head started bothering him.
"Let's get you back to your ship, so you can return home," Ko'Vel said.
Ko'Vel got Sheppard and Ronon to the cave entrance and back to their ship. Sheppard let Ko'Vel know they would bring his wife back as soon as possible. he contacted the jumper, so the back hatch could be opened and Ronon and him could board it.
"Make sure Atlantis has a doctor standing by," Ronon said.
"Will do," Lorne said as he closed the back hatch.
Atlantis/The infirmary:
When they got back to Atlantis, Sheppard was taken to straight to the infirmary. The first thing on Sheppard's mind when they got back was Teyla.
"How is Teyla?" Sheppard asked the doctor.
"Keller and I are both tending to her," Beckett replied, "She hasn't woken up yet. O'Leyah has been giving her the medicine and telling us what we need to know about it."
Sheppard took something out of his vest pocket and asked Beckett if he could hold onto Teyla's ring for a while, so his vest could be taken. Beckett took it and put it in his pocket and told Sheppard he would guard it with his life.
"Thanks Doc," Sheppard said.
"Now let's get you patched up and do a full body scan to make sure nothing else is wrong," Beckett said, "I'll also give you something for your headache, once I know that's all it is."
Beckett ran the full body scan, some other tests and they all came back clean. Sheppard's headache was just that a headache. Beckett stitched up all the cuts that needed stitches and told Sheppard that he should remain in the infirmary for couple of nights as a precaution. Beckett then gave him something for his headache.
"O'Leyah also told Keller and myself what was done to Teyla," Beckett said, "We are treating her for cold and flu symptoms."
"I have given her the first dose of the cure and told your doctors to give her the rest every 7 hours until the medicine is gone," O'Leyah said to Sheppard.
"Again thank you," Sheppard said, "I can have Major Lorne and McKay see that you are returned to the planet."
"Thank you," O'Leyah said, "Until we meet again."
Arrangements where made to get O'Leyah back to the planet. Sheppard was placed in a bed where he could look to his right and see Teyla. Sheppard the radioed the babysitter to let her know the situation and when the best time would be for Torren to visit his mother. He told the babysitter tomorrow as was getting late and Teyla was still not awake. Sheppard thought about getting out of bed and going over Teyla, but then decided not to in case he would get yelled at by Keller, Beckett or a nurse. At some point, he fell asleep. While he was asleep, Teyla had woken up, been given her second dose of the nightmare cure and then went back to sleep. The nurse did manage to tell her about Sheppard while she was getting her second dose. Sometime after that, Teyla started tossing and turning because of a nightmare and this caused Sheppard to wake up. He looked over at Teyla and got up not caring if someone yelled at him. He grabbed Teyla and sat on the edge of the bed just holding her. Teyla shifted, so that she was laying on her side and this allowed more room for Sheppard to lay down, which he did. He put his arm around her and she put her head on his shoulder. They remained this way for the rest of the night. Sheppard did carefully get out of bed in the morning, not wanting to wake Teyla and went back to his bed. During breakfast, Sheppard was telling Teyla how he ended up in the infirmary and then about Gor'gan.
"He says if your people need a place to hide from the Wraith they have some places," Sheppard said and he also told her about Gor'gan wanting to meet her when she was up to it.
Sometime after they finished their breakfast, the babysitter walked in with Torren, but not before Beckett stopped by to give Sheppard the ring he was holding onto for him. The babysitter told them she would come back for Torren after lunch to give him enough time to visit with his mother and Sheppard. She put Torren's busy bag in a chair and then left. Torren climbed onto his mother's bed as it was one of the lower beds in the infirmary.
"Mommy better?" Torren asked his mother.
"Not quite Torren," Teyla replied, "I have to stay here for 2 or 3 more days, but John will be getting out of the infirmary tomorrow."
"Yeah and then we can play Candy Land," Sheppard said, "Say Torren would you want to help with something?"
Torren nodded yes and Sheppard got out of bed. He went over to Teyla's bed, ring in hand, sat on the edge of her bed and whispered to Torren what he wanted Torren to help him with.
"You know Teyla I think there is something missing from that left hand of yours," Sheppard said, "Wouldn't you agree Torren?"
"Mommy's ring," Torren said as he nodded yes.
Torren helped Sheppard slide the ring back on Teyla's finger. Sheppard then leaned over and gave her a quick kiss as did Torren, but his was on the cheek. All Teyla did was smile at the 2 of them. The next day after Torren woke up from his nap, Sheppard took him to the infirmary to visit his mother and he brought his Candy Land game, so he could show her how to play. At some point during the game, Teyla picked a card and Torren moved their piece to the end of the path causing them to win the game.
"It looks like I have been bested by the most beautiful woman in the galaxy and her son," Sheppard said as he started to put the game back in the box. Sheppard looked at his watch realized it was almost dinnertime, "Torren what do you say we get some dinner and then we can come back here and visit some more?"
The Infirmary/Sheppard and Teyla's Quarters:
Torren told him okay and they told Teyla they would see her later. Teyla watched the 2 of them walk out of the infirmary, Candy Land in hand, with a smile on her face. 3 days later Sheppard was sitting on the couch polishing up his vows, for his and Teyla's wedding, while Torren was playing in his room. Sheppard didn't notice Teyla enter the room until he saw her sit down next to him. He quickly closed the notebook and turned his head to face Teyla.
"Just polishing up my vows for the wedding," Sheppard said, "You know Torren and I were going to pick you up in a little bit."
"The doctor released me early," Teyla said and then she gave him an update on the nightmares before asking about Torren, "Where is Torren?"
"He's in his room playing. It's good the doctor released you early because we can eat early and that will us time to stop by my quarters to get the last of my things and then I will be 100% officially moved in," Sheppard said and then gave Teyla a quick kiss before saying something else, "I'll go get Torren, so we can leave."
Sheppard clipped his pen to his notebook, got up and put the notebook on his desk under his War and Peace book and some Sudoku books. he then went to Torren's room and told him Teyla got released early and to grab some shoes for Torren.
"You want to show Mommy what you have been learning," Sheppard said as he held up Torren's shoes.
Torren told him yes and the 2 of them left Torren's room. Torren went and sat down on the couch next to his mother.
Sheppard held up one show and asked, "What letter is this?"
Torren told him L and Sheppard asked what foot that was for and Torren said left as he stuck out his left foot. Sheppard put his shoe on his foot before moving on to the other shoe. Torren told him R and right foot. Sheppard put his shoe on once he stuck out his right foot. Sheppard then took Torren to the bathroom for a quick potty check. When the 2 of them came out of the bathroom, Teyla was waiting for them by the door. Sheppard picked up Torren and gave Teyla another kiss and then the 3 of them headed out the door for lunch.
