Mess Hall:
Sheppard was sitting at a table eating a bit a food waiting on Teyla, Ronon and McKay to show up for the team lunch when Teyla walked up with a bottle of water and a sandwich in hand.
“I am sorry I will not be able to stay for the team lunch,” Teyla said, “I have some business to tend to with my people.”
Sheppard was disappointed and was about to suggest dinner when Teyla told him she would be getting in late that night.
“I guess I’ll see you in the morning then,” Sheppard said as McKay and Ronon entered the Mess Hall.
Teyla smiled at Sheppard and then left the room.
Sheppard’s Quarters (later that night):
Sheppard debated about going to the Control Room to wait for Teyla to return but decided against it. He instead sat down on his bed and began to read some more of War and Peace. The next thing he knew was that it was morning. He set his book on his nightstand and then got ready for the day. When he was done, he exited his quarters and headed to Teyla’s quarters to see if she would like to join him for breakfast. He chimed her quarters but got no answer, so he chimed again and still got no answer. Sheppard was beginning to get worried, so rather then open her door he went straight to the Control Room.
The Control Room:
Sheppard walked in and went straight over to the technician on duty.
“Did Teyla make it back to Atlantis?” Sheppard asked the technician, Chuck.
“I was just going to radio you about that,” Chuck replied, “Teyla is 9 hours over do.”
“And you didn’t radio me sooner,” Sheppard said irritated that the technician had not radioed him sooner.
“I assumed she spent the night with her people. That’s why I waited until now,” Chuck said.
Sheppard was about to go to Weir’s office when Weir walked in. Sheppard walked over to her and informed her of the situation.
“I would like to go to New Athos and find out why Teyla is over do,” Sheppard said.
Weir gave him the ok and told him to radio back when he had something.
New Athos:
When Sheppard and Dex exited the Stargate on New Athos they found Halling and Jinto standing by the DHD.
“I think I know why you are here,” Halling said.
“Colonel Sheppard,” Jinto said franticly, “There was someone or something that grabbed Teyla and I do not know where she was taken.”
“Jinto start from the beginning,” Sheppard said worried that something bad had happened to Teyla.
“Teyla was leaving the village for the Stargate,” Jinto said, “and Wex and I followed her.”
“I and the other Athosians wanted to make sure she returned safely to the Atlantis,” Halling said.
“She did not know that we were following her,” Jinto said, “When Wex and I got to the Stargate...”
“Do you know what this person or thing looked like?” Sheppard asked Jinto.
“I do not know,” Jinto replied, “It was as if there was no one there.”
“Almost as if someone was invisible,” Dex said.
Jinto nodded yes.
“Ronon and I will return to Atlantis and get some search parties set up,” Sheppard said, “I will search every inch of this planet if I have to. I’ll do whatever it takes to find her. You can be assured of that.”
Atlantis:
The first place Sheppard went to when he returned to Atlantis was Weir’s office.
“I have something on Teyla,” Sheppard said and Weir asked him what he had. He then told her what Jinto had said to him. “I’d like to get some search parties set up and maybe a jumper or two.”
It didn’t take Weir long to think about it. “Let me know when you find out anything.”
Some Starship:
“What do you want with me?” Teyla asked the strange alien who looked human except for teardrop shaped ears and the tattoo on his forehead.
“You have something I want,” the alien replied.
“What might that be?” Teyla asked.
“You will find out soon enough,” the alien replied, “When we reach the Lakeyin Space Station orbiting Lakeya IV.”
New Athos:
Sheppard was getting even more worried then he was before. They had been searching for about a half hour already and there was no sign of Teyla. He set the jumper down near the settlement but before he could leave the jumper Ronon walked over to him.
“I’m not one to make promises,” Ronon said, “but I promise that we will find her.”
Major Lorne then came over the radio and said, “Halling and some of the other Athosians say they remember seeing someone earlier in the day. That man said he was traveler and was in need of a meal. They gave him some food and then he left after he ate. They don’t know if he left via the Stargate or by some other means.”
“Thank you,” Sheppard said and then to Ronon he said, “Go with Major Lorne’s team and see if you can track this guy down. I’ll fly around and see what I can find.”
Ronon left the jumper then Sheppard closed the back door.
After about a half an hour of flying around he got a call on his radio from Ronan who told him he had found the man they were looking for. Sheppard told Ronan he would be there shortly to question the man about what happened to Teyla.
The Settlement:
The dark haired man was about to try and leave but Ronan stopped him with his weapon, which was set to stun.
“You can answer to me right now,” Ronan said, “or wait and answer to someone far worst then me right now.”
A few moments later Sheppard, angry as ever, walked in and over to the man while yelling. “Where is Teyla?”
The dark haired man didn’t answer so Sheppard kept asking until he answered.
“All I know is that I was to take her to a location on this planet then she would be taken to a ship and I would get paid,” the dark haired man replied.
“Where was the ship heading?” Sheppard asked still angry.
“I don’t know,” man replied, “If I knew that they would have killed me after they got what they wanted.”
“Who are they?” Sheppard asked.
“I don’t know,” the man replied.
“Ronan take him back to Atlantis and put him in a cell. Tell Major Lorne and to go with you and put 2 of his men by this man’s cell. I’ll follow in the jumper,” Sheppard said before walking over to Halling and then to Halling, “We’re going to take this man back to Atlantis and do everything we can to find Teyla. I promise that we’ll find her because the Athosians need their leader.”
Sheppard would not be happy until they found Teyla and only when they found her and she was alright.
Some Starship:
Master Din’Jig walked over to one of his officers and told him to come with him. When they got to the cell where Teyla was being held, she was sitting on the only thing in there, a straw mat.
“I want you take her to a holding cell near the connecting porthole,” Din’Jig said, “We will be nearing the space station in about 30 minutes.”
As the officer grabbed Teyla she asked, “Where are you taking me?”
Din’Jig didn’t answer her but said, “Soon you will have the answers to all the questions you asked me about.”
Atlantis:
Sheppard walked over to the cell where the man was being held hoping he remembered something else, but when he got in the cell Ronon had to stop him from killing the man. Then Ronon asked the man a couple of questions.
“I have heard of the Asurans,” the man said, “but it is forbidden among my people to do business with them. Punishment is death. This Michael the Wraith you speak of. I saw him a few months back but it could not be him. I have not seen him since.”
Weir come over the radio and told Col. Sheppard to come to the control room. Sheppard told her he that he was on his way. When he left the cell Ronon followed him all the way to the Control Room.
The Control Room:
As soon as Sheppard and Ronon entered the Control Room Weir said, “The Daedalus has been informed of the situation and is prepared to help in the search for Teyla. Dr. Cole is waiting on the Daedalus.”
“I will be ready within the hour,” Sheppard said.
“Major Lorne’s team will also be at your disposal,” Weir said, “should you need backup.”
“Have them prepare the prisoner for transport,” Sheppard said, “I’m not done questioning him and tell the Daedalus to meet me at New Athos. I would like to do one last sweep for clues.”
Weir radioed Major Lorne and the Daedalus before Sheppard and Ronon left the Control Room.
New Athos/The Daedalus:
After about an hour of searching the area around the settlement and the Stargate, Sheppard’s team was about to give up when Sheppard found something on the ground. He bend down to get a closer look at it and what he saw was Teyla’s knife. He then radioed the Daedalus to tell them he found Teyla’s knife and would like to have it looked over for any fingerprints that weren’t Teyla’s. Once the knife was transported to the Daedalus Sheppard’s team headed for the jumper.
After Sheppard landed the jumper in one of the F-302 bays, he and his team headed to the bridge.
Some Starship/Lakeyin Space Station:
“We have been cleared to enter the Lakeyin Space Station,” Din’Jig said then to one his officers in charge of transporting prisoners, “See to it that the Athsoian prisoner is taken aboard the space station.”
“Where would you like the prisoner?” the officer said.
“In the royal holding cell until my brother Min’Jig can deal with her,” Din’Jig replied.
The officer quickly bowed and then left.
A few minutes later Teyla was in the royal holding cell which only had a bed that was held up by chains on the wall and the mattress was no more then a straw mat. About a half an hour later, she was visited by Master Din’Jig.
“Soon you will have to deal with my brother Min’Jig,” Din’Jig said, “as he has been informed of your arrival and he is the ruler of this space station.”
“What do you plan do to with me?” Teyla asked.
“That will be up to Min’Jig and my sisters Fin’Jig and Lin’Jig,” Din’Jig replied.
An officer came over to Din’Jig to tell him that Min’Jig was ready to see the prisoner.
“It seems my brother Min’Jig is ready to deal with you,” Din’Jig said.
Before Teyla could say anything she was out of the cell on her way to see Min’Jig.
The Daedalus Bridge/Hallway Outside The Bridge:
“Has there been any word on the fingerprints on Teyla’s knife yet?” Sheppard asked.
Caldwell was about to say something when Dr. Cole came over the radio. “Col. Caldwell I wanted to give you an update on Teyla’s knife. Is Col. Sheppard’s team there?”
Caldwell told her yes and Dr. Cole continued, “I have found two fingerprints on the knife that don’t belong to Teyla. I will need to check the prisoner’s fingerprints to see if one or both of them belong to him.”
“Thank you Dr. Cole,” Caldwell said, “Keep me updated.”
“Will do sir,” Dr. Cole said, “Dr. Cole out.”
“Rodney did you find anything find anything in the information you got from the planet that was stealing DNA and making babies with that DNA?” Sheppard asked.
“No. Why?” McKay asked.
“Col. Sheppard what are you getting at?” Caldwell asked.
“I’m not sure,” Sheppard replied, “but my team hasn’t been on any missions since then where someone would want to take Teyla prisoner.”
Caldwell asked what happened on the mission and it took a few moments before Sheppard could tell him what happened. When Sheppard was finished telling him, Caldwell asked, “So you think that mission and Teyla missing are related?”
“It’s possible,” Sheppard replied, “McKay do you still have the information from that planet?”
“Yes but I would have to go back to Atlantis to get it,” McKay replied.
“Be ready to beam down shortly Dr. McKay,” Caldwell said.
“Is the prisoner still the holding cell or in the infirmary,” Sheppard said.
An officer on the bridge told him the Infirmary and Sheppard told Caldwell that he would like to speak to the prisoner some more. Sheppard wanted to make sure every bit of information the prisoner had he knew and he wasn’t going leave any stone unturned especially for Teyla.
“Let me know when you have anything useful,” Caldwell said.
Sheppard told him yes sir and them walked out of the bridge with Ronon behind him.
“What made you come up with that?” Ronon asked.
“I don’t know,” Sheppard replied, “A hunch but right now it’s the only thing that seems to fit.”
Lakeyin Space Station:
Teyla was taken to a room that had a castle theme with a throne at one end and a chair about a couple of yards away from it which didn’t fit the theme. Din’Jig placed Teyla in the chair and used what looked like handcuffs to chain one of her arms to the chair. What Teyla didn’t know was the handcuffs would give out some pain when she moved in the chair but not enough to harm her unless a button was pushed to up the pain.
Din’Jig walked over to a beaded door and said, “Min’Jig my brother the prisoner awaits.”
“Wait outside the door,” Min’Jig said, “I will summon you when I am done.”
Din’Jig left the room at the same time Min’Jig came through the beaded door to talk to the prisoner.
“What do you want with me?” Teyla asked.
“You have something I want,” Min’Jig replied, “or rather my sister Lin’Jig wants.”
“What would that be?” Teyla asked not knowing what he wanted.
“A baby,” Min’Jig replied.
“You will not get one from me,” Teyla said.
“Just tell me where the baby is,” Min’Jig said, “or I will have to get my sister Lin’Jig.”
When Teyla didn’t answer Min’Jig he left the room to get his sister Lin’Jig and while he was gone Teyla tried to get free from the chair but instead felt a pin prick of pain in her left arm.
The Daedalus:
When Sheppard and Ronon got to the Infirmary, Dr. Cole had gotten the fingerprints from the prisoner and was in the process of comparing them to the unknown fingerprints. “If you two wait a minute I’ll be able to tell you about the two unknown fingerprints.”
Sheppard and Ronon waited a few minutes and then Dr. Cole had the identity of the two fingerprints.
“This not good,” Dr. Cole said and then she radioed Caldwell. When asked what she had, she replied, “The 2 fingerprints don’t belong to the prisoner.”
“Is there anything else you have Dr. Cole?” Caldwell asked over the radio.
“A suggestion,” Dr. Cole replied, “We should ask the prisoner what alien races he knows about. It might help us figure out the alien that the fingerprints belong to or at least the name of the race. If we don’t then we’d most likely be at a dead end.”
Sheppard walked over to the prisoner and said, “Start talking. I want to know the name of every alien race you know of.”
“Or what,” the prisoner asked.
“You’ll never see the light of day,” Sheppard replied.
“Alright. Alright. Just do not hurt me,” the prisoner said, “Wraith, Asurans, Athosians, Michael, Lakeyins, Ancients, and a race known to some as the Travelers.”
Sheppard stepped away from the prisoner and asked Ronon to join him. “Have you ever heard of the Travelers or the Lakeyins.”
Ronon told him no and Sheppard walked over to the prisoner.
“Do you know where we might find the Travelers or the Lakeyins?” Sheppard asked.
“The Travelers. No,” the prisoner replied, “but the Lakeyins yes. They live at the far end of the galaxy.”
“Give us the Gate address then,” Ronon said.
“I can not,” the prisoner said, “because the closest Stargate to their home planet is 15 hours away and I do not know the address to the planet.”
Sheppard told the guard he could take the prisoner back to his cell then he radioed Caldwell to tell him what he had.
Lakeyin Space Station:
Min’Jig returned to the room with his sister Lin’Jig and pressed a button to up the pain Teyla would fell if she tried to get free from the chair again. “This is my sister Lin’Jig and as you can see she will soon have her baby, but the baby will not survive the birth.”
“I am desperate to have a child but because every baby I carry dies just before being born I can not. All because of some rare medical condition among Lakeyin women where they can carry a baby to term but as it is in the process of being born the baby dies,” Lin’Jig said, “My brothers were doing everything they could to get me a baby and you ruined it by taking the baby away.”
“So tell my sister where the baby is or you will be in worse trouble then before,” Min’Jig said.
Teyla didn’t answer so Lin’Jig said, “Every time Lakeyin doctors try some treatment to fix the condition it does not work. I expect the same will be true this time so I want to know where the baby is and I want to know this instance.”
Teyla didn’t answer the question for a third time and Lin’Jig walked over to her. “I have ways of making you talk.”
The Daedalus:
Caldwell asked someone on the bridge, after the conversion with Sheppard was finished, if McKay was back on board the ship yet. They said no but that the Stargate on the planet had been activated.
“Let me know the minute he is back on board,” Caldwell said as Sheppard and Ronon entered the bridge.
Someone told Caldwell a minute later that McKay was on board and Caldwell said to Sheppard and Ronon, “We’ll be getting underway once Dr. McKay double checks the location of the planet. We may only get one chance at this and I don’t want it to be the wrong planet.
Once McKay was on the bridge, Caldwell had him double check the planet’s location. Once McKay had looked it over, he told Caldwell they were good to go.
“When we reach the planet we may want to stay back a ways from the planet,” Sheppard said, “and let my team go in so we don’t alert them to our presence.”
“Agreed,” Caldwell said as he turned to Sheppard and then to the pilot, “How long until we reach the planet?”
“It will be 24 hours Sir,” the pilot said, “on hyperdrive.”
Caldwell told the pilot to break orbit and head for the planet.
This is going to seem like the longest 24 hours of my life Sheppard thought.
Lakeyin Space Station:
“If you tell me that the baby is dead,” Lin’Jig said, “then you will be in so much trouble.”
Min’Jig was getting more annoyed that Teyla would not answer his sister so he walked over to the area where the button was and pressed one that was to the left if it. What Teyla felt was a shot of pain flowing quickly through her body then it stopped and then it happened 2 more times after which Min’Jig walked over to Teyla and yelled at her to answer Lin’Jig.
“I will never answer you,” Teyla said in such a manner that if she weren’t restrained to the chair she would have knocked him down to the ground.
“Oh yes you will,” Min’Jig said with a look that said he meant business when it came to his sister.
“I have had enough of this Min’Jig,” Lin’Jig said, “return the prisoner to her cell. It will give her time to change her mind about the answering the question.”
Once Teyla was no longer handcuffed to the chair, she was immediately taken back to her cell where she was practically thrown in.
The Daedalus:
Sheppard was in the Mess Hall drinking a cup of coffee when Ronan Dex walked in and over Sheppard.
“Have you come up with a plan to rescue Teyla yet?” Ronon asked.
“No,” Sheppard replied, “because I don’t know what we’re up against but when we know more I will.”
“Has McKay found out anything yet?” Ronon asked.
“When I asked him he had just started,” Sheppard replied, “looking at the information and he was waiting on Dr. Cole to help him.
“I am sure he will find something,” Ronon said.
“You know what I hate right now is not being able to do anything while there doing who knows what to Teyla,” Sheppard said, “If we hadn’t gone to that planet then bits of our DNA wouldn’t have been stolen and none of this would be happening right now.”
6 hours later in a Science Lab McKay was continuting to look to over the information with Dr. Cole when he found something that could be useful or it could not. He showed it to her and asked her what he thought of it.
“Colonel Sheppard to the Science Lab,” Dr. Cole said over the radio.
Lakeyin Space Station:
Teyla couldn’t tell how much time had pass but she figured it was a long time because no one had come to her cell for some time. Teyla continued to sit in her cell in silent then all of a sudden she her footsteps moving closer.
Din’Jig stopped in front of her cell opened the wooden door so he could walk in and ask Teyla, “Have you chanced your mind yet?”
“I will never answer you,” Teyla replied.
“Oh yes you will when I get through with you,” Din’Jig said as walked out of the cell and slammed the door shut.
The Daedalus:
Sheppard walked into the Science Lab and asked Dr. Cole and McKay what they found.
“Well I think I found out why someone would want to steal DNA,” McKay replied.
“Apparently the race of people stealing the DNA did so for the women of another race who can’t have kids,” Dr. Cole said, “well not so much as can’t. These women can carry a baby to term but it dies as it’s in the process of being born.”
“Is there a name to either one of these races?” Sheppard asked.
“No,” McKay replied, “but I’ll kept looking and let you know either way.”
Lakeyin Space Station:
After Din’Jig left, Teyla would not see anyone else for a long time but when someone did return to her it was only Din’Jig. This time he had someone else with him.
“This is my other sister Fin’Jig,” Din’Jig said.
Fin’Jig walked over and placed a bowl of food next to Teyla who was sitting before saying, “You must eat this food or my brother Din’Jig will be very angry and you do not want him to be angry.”
“I will not eat this food,” Teyla said as Din’Jig moved closer to her.
“Oh yes you will,” Din’Jig said as he pulled out his stun weapon, aimed it at her head and told her she would die if she didn’t even thou the weapon would only stun her.
Teyla ate the food as fast as she could then she threw the bowl past Fin’Jig so it landed on the other side of the doorway. Fin’Jig went to pick up the bowl and leave while Din’Jig walked out of the cell and slammed the door shut when his sister was gone. Sometime after they left, Teyla fell to the floor and laid there unconscious for quite some time.
When she did wake up she had a major headache. Moments later after she woke up, Din’Jig returned to her cell this time alone. After Din’Jig opened the cell door and before Teyla could say anything, he stunned her. He then grabbed her and took her to a medical facility room on the space station used for interrogation. Din’Jig placed her in a chair making sure her hands were handcuffed to the arms of the chair before someone came over and injected her with something called truth juice which was also laced on the food she ate earlier. Moments later, Lin’Jig entered the room and started walking around. Teyla noticed her walking around room then noticed her sit down in a chair before speaking.
“Now I want you tell me where the baby is?” Lin’Jig asked.
“I will never answer you,” Teyla replied.
“It will take a moment for the truth juice to work as I had to give you a stronger dose then normal,” Lin’Jig, “and when it does I will have my answer.”
The next thing Teyla would say would anger Lin’Jig which meant the truth juice had kicked in.
“The baby is dead,” Teyla said.
“Take her back to her cell,” Lin’Jig said, “but mark my words you will pay for an answer like that.”
Din’Jig uncuffed her from the chair and took her back to her cell. After Teyla was out of the room, Lin’Jig began thinking of ways Teyla would pay.
The Daedalus:
Sheppard walked on to the bridge to ask Caldwell how much more time was left before they got near the planet.
“How much more time before we get there?” Caldwell asked.
“10 hours,” the officer replied.
Caldwell turned to look at Sheppard so he could ask him a question and saw that he was not happy about the wait. “Has any useful information been found?”
“McKay and Dr. Cole found some information as to why someone would want to steal DNA but their having no luck finding a name to the race that was in charge of the whole DNA stealing thing,” Sheppard replied.
The Lakeyin Space Station:
Teyla was sitting on the floor not knowing how much time has pasted when she heard the door to her cell open up. When it opened, she saw that it was Lin’Jig and she had someone with her.
“I have figured out how you will pay,” Lin’Jig said.
Teyla remained silent after Lin’Jig spoke and watched Lin’Jig walk over to her. Teyla then saw Lin’Jig instruct the other person with her to inject something. The next thing Teyla knew was that she was being injected with something.
“This will keep you awake. It will take a while to take effect,” Lin’Jig said and with that said she left the room with the other person making sure to shut the door on the way out.
After the door had been shut, Teyla started feeling sick and that was the last thing she remembered before Din’Jig came to take her some place. When Din’Jig reached the place he was instructed to take her he put her in the small room and once the door was closed and locked he pressed a few buttons that were near the room. The room in question was a temperature changing room where the temperature could be changed at the touch of button. Teyla could hear the footsteps walking away and she was left in the room where she started to shiver but not for long. The next thing she felt was the temperature rising and her body get hotter but then the room went back to cold and she started shivering again.
The Daedalus/Puddle Jumper:
It was 5 hours until they arrived at the point where Sheppard’s team would go the rest of the way in a puddle jumper and Sheppard sat in the Mess Hall trying to come up with a plan.
Ronon walked in to see if Sheppard had come up with a plan yet. “Got a plan yet?”
It took Sheppard a few moments to realize that Ronon was in the room much less speaking. “We need to find Rodney I think I have a plan.”
Sheppard got up out of the chair and went to find McKay while Ronon ran so he could catch up to him. When Sheppard found McKay, he was still going through information with Dr. Cole.
McKay looked up to see Sheppard and Ronon in the room and said, “Perfect timing. I have or rather Dr. Cole has found some more interesting information.”
“That’s good because I have something too. A plan to rescue Teyla,” Sheppard said.
“Great so what’s the plan?” McKay asked.
Then Sheppard started to tell him, Ronon and Dr. Cole.
Once Sheppard was done explaining his rescue plan, Dr. Cole started telling them about what she found.
“I found out more about the women I told you about earlier,” Dr. Cole said, “who can’t have children well apparently it’s not all the women just the ones who have some rare medical condition which causes the baby to die in the process of being born. My best bet to whoever has Teyla is someone who has that.”
"And someone who wanted the baby created via my DNA and Teyla’s,” Sheppard said.
5 hours later Caldwell came over the comm. and told Sheppard that his team could proceed the rest of the way. As Sheppard team’s prepared to leave Daedalus he told Caldwell the plan he had to rescue Teyla.
“The plan once we get there is to sneak in and out without being seen. McKay will scan for Teyla's life sign and tell Ronon and myself which way to go while he remains in the jumper with Dr. Cole and the nurse,” Sheppard said.
Caldwell wished them good luck and told an officer to open the bay doors.
The four hours it took to get to the planet seemed a lot longer then they really were for Sheppard who wanted this while situation to just be over with and Teyla back on Atlantis. Once they reached the planet, it was time to put the plan into action well almost.
“What is that orbiting the planet?” Sheppard asked McKay.
McKay did a scan of the planet and then the rather large object orbiting it. “Well I’m getting a lot of interference from then planet, but I’m having no trouble with the orbiting object which if I had to wage a guess is some type of space station because I’m picking up a lot of life signs.”
"Are any of them Athosian?” Sheppard asked.
“It’s hard to tell,” McKay replied, “but if we could get close enough I may be able to hack into their databanks and get a map.”
Sheppard moved as close to the object as he could by getting into orbit near the object.
After McKay was able to get a map onto his pad, they tried to find some sort of docking port or hanger bay. "I think there is some kind of hanger bay here.”
McKay pointed to it on the map and Sheppard headed in the direction. When they got to the hanger bay, Sheppard asked him to get the door open.
“You expect me to hack into their systems again,” McKay replied, "I was lucky I was able to do it the first time to get the map.”
Ronon shot McKay a look that said don’t mess with Sheppard while Sheppard got out the lemon he had in his pocket and waved it in McKay’s face.
“Alright I’ll see what I can do,” McKay said and he got to work straight away doing everything he could think of to hack back into the aliens’ systems and get the hanger door open. “There I got the door to open up. Satisfied?”
Sheppard didn’t bother to respond to McKay’s comment and landed the ship in the hanger bay. He then asked McKay to scan for Teyla’s life sign.
“I picking up a lot of alien life signs here,” McKay said showing Sheppard and Ronon on the map, “but over here I’m only picking up 3 and one that keeps blinking on and off on this map.”
Sheppard asked him if it could be Teyla and after a few seconds and few button presses McKay nodded yes.
“Ronon you’re with me. McKay stay with Dr. Cole and the nurse and keep the jumper clocked,” Sheppard said as he opened the back door.
Ronon walked over to McKay and told him to give Sheppard directions, wanting to make sure McKay didn’t forget that part of the plan, before leaving the jumper with Sheppard.
The Lakeyin Space Station:
The next thing Teyla heard was the door opening up. Din’Jig had returned to take her back to her cell where she would remain until Lin’Jig figured out what else to do with Teyla. When Din’Jig grabbed Teyla she tried to get free. She didn’t know where she found the strength especially given everything that they had do to her but she managed to get free and run a short a distance before a Lakeyin guard grabbed her.
“Hold her here,” Din’Jig said, “I will summon Lin’Jig.”
The guard nodded yes and then Din’Jig left. After a few minutes Din’Jig retuned and he had Lin’Jig with him.
“What do you wish to do to her now?” Din’Jig asked.
“Drug her before you put her back in her cell,” Lin’Jig replied before she started screaming in pain.
“Make sure gets drugged before you put her in the cell,” Din’Jig said and the he gave the guard other orders.
Another guard appeared in the area and asked, “There are two unknown life signs aboard the space station. They could be here to rescue the woman. What should I do?”
Lin’Jig walked over to Teyla and said something to her before leaving with her brother to prepare to have her baby.
Once the guard had Teyla drugged, he practically threw her in her cell before shutting the door and leaving.
Ronon and Sheppard followed McKay’s directions getting closer to Teyla’s life sign when Sheppard peered down the hallway and saw someone standing there.
“Sheppard,” McKay said over the radio, “I have some bad news. I can’t pick up that life sign anymore.”
“So get the life sign back,” Sheppard said thinking there was something wrong with McKay’s computer pad.
“I can’t my pad just went blank,” McKay said.
“So Ronon you think you can get rid of the guard without making too much of a scene?” Sheppard asked.
Ronon nodded yes and slowly made his way closer to the guard but before the guard could do anything Ronon shot him dead. When Sheppard made his way over to Ronon he heard some type of noise that caused him to be on alert. He turned to see where the noise was coming from and noticed an access tube of some kind.
“I think I found where that noise was coming from,” Sheppard said and then he got an idea, “Help me put the guard in here.”
Ronon wanted to ask why but thought the better of it. “Sheppard I think I hear something down this path.”
“Teyla’s got to be down there,” Sheppard said, “or else there would be no need for a guard. Come on.”
Ronon and Sheppard walked down the path, weapons at the ready, when they passed what looked like a cell door but there was no window in which to look in and see who was in there.
“I’ll shoot it open,” Ronon said.
“No that would make too loud of a noise,” Sheppard said, “Use one of you knifes and pry it open.”
After Ronon got out a knife, he began to pry the door open. When the door finally opened they saw Teyla on the floor not moving at all so Sheppard ran over to her and checked for pulse.
“She has a pulse but it’s not very strong,” Sheppard said, “We need to get her back to the jumper.”
Ronon was about to pick up Teyla but Sheppard stopped him and picked up Teyla. He knew that Ronon had the better weapon so he told Ronon to keep his weapon at the ready at all times until they got back to the jumper.
Puddle Jumper:
Once back at the jumper, Sheppard set Teyla down on the seats on the right side of the back of the jumper to let Dr. Cole take over.
“Rodney get us out of here,” Sheppard said, “I’ll take over in a minute.”
“John,” Teyla said in slightly weak voice after regaining consciousness.
Sheppard walked over to her and knelt down next to her doing his best to say out of Dr. Cole’s way. “What is it?”
“They said...if I have…anymore children,” Teyla replied her voice still slightly weak, “that I would…pay dearly.”
Sheppard didn’t know what to say so he said, “The important thing right now is that you’re safe.”
The Daedalus:
After the jumper returned to the Daedalus, Teyla was taken straight to the Infirmary so that Dr. Cole could better exam her then with what she had in her bag on the jumper. Sheppard and the rest of his team waited outside the Infirmary for Dr. Cole to come and give them the full report on Teyla. When Dr. Cole did come out of the Infirmary, she began to tell them about Teyla.
“I found evidence that she has been drugged,” Dr. Cole said, “Her body temperature right now is not normal for an Asthosian so I’m having to get it back to normal. She also has some bruises…”
Sheppard continued to listen to Dr. Cole but after a while his thoughts wandered off for a second and then asked, “Can we se her now?”
“Yes but you should know that I have given her something to help her sleep,” Dr. Cole replied.
Sheppard and the rest of his team walked into the Infirmary to see Teyla. After a few minutes, Ronan left the Infirmary dragging McKay with him leaving Sheppard alone with Teyla. He pulled up a chair to sit in and started thinking about what Teyla had told him in the Jumper. Then he started thinking about something else the kiss that he had given Teyla when Tabitha was alive it was something that they hadn’t talked about, but they would eventually and his next action was one he wasn’t sure he should ever tell Teyla but he would decide that later on. Sheppard got up out of the chair and placed a kiss on Teyla’s forehead before leaving the Infirmary knowing he could rest easier now that she was safe and away from the aliens that hurt her.
Atlantis’ Infirmary:
When the Daedalus returned to Atlantis, Teyla was transferred to Atlantis’ Infirmary where she would remain until she was completely healed.
The next day when Sheppard came in to see Teyla he had something for her. “So Doc how is she?”
Dr. Cole turned to Sheppard and gave him a progress report on Teyla before telling them she would be in the doctor’s office if they needed her.
“Ronon and McKay said they would stop by later,” Sheppard said and then he handed her something.
“What is this?” Teyla asked as she took what he was handing her.
“It’s a small container containing a bit of Tabitha’s ashes,” Sheppard replied, “It was something I had Beckett do.”
“You keep it John,” Teyla said.
“No I already have one,” Sheppard said, “This one is yours.”
She told Sheppard thank you and he told her if she wanted to talk about what happened he would be happy to listen.
“I appreciate the offer,” Teyla said.
“I should probably let you get some rest before Dr. Cole kicks me out,” Sheppard said just before he started walking out, “I’ll stop by later.”
Teyla watched him walk out of the Infirmary for a moment and then she looked at the small container in her hand before closing her eyes to get some rest.
The End
The End
